The field of biology has advanced significantly over the past few decades, yet human beings are still struggling in understanding the complexity of biology. Biological research often remains fragmented and siloed, dominated by the conventional one-model for one problem and with one data approach, making it incredibly challenging to integrate knowledge and uncover the intricate networks of genes, proteins, cells, organisms, and ecosystems that hold the secrets of life.
GenBio AI believes in the power of generative AI. By leveraging this transformative technology, biological data of all types and scales will be utilized to distill holistic and comprehensive knowledge of how living systems work, therefore multiscale biological complexities are no longer barriers but opportunities for breakthrough insights.
We aim to develop the world first AI-Driven Digital Organism (AIDO), an integrated system of multiscale foundation models for predicting, simulating, and programming biology at all levels. As a starting point, we are releasing six models covering the full spectrum of mainstream biological data – namely DNA, RNA, Protein and Cell, as the first building blocks for AIDO. With this release, we welcome all players in the community to come and collaborate with us. And we invite innovation-minded start-upers to apply to join us to together disrupt life sciences and revolutionize medicine with AI.
Our founding team
Eric Xing, a world renowned AI scientist, Professor at CMU and University Professor and President at MBZUAI, is our Chief Scientist, directing our overarching research and development strategy. Our Chief Technology Officer is Le Song, another global expert in AI. We are also honored to have Eran Segal and Fabian Theis as our Senior Scientific Fellows, alongside a talented founding team of engineers and research scientists from top academic institutions and industry leaders with expertise in AI, machine learning, distributed computing systems, and computational biology.
Headquartered in Palo Alto with satellite labs in Paris, and Abu Dhabi, we are taking a global approach to tackle biology’s most fundamental challenges and to revolutionize the next generation of biomedicine and biotechnology.
