GenBio AI is pleased to announce that Dr. Ziv Bar-Joseph has joined as Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). In this role, Ziv will lead the integration and application of GenBio AI’s multiscale foundation models, ensuring their impact in areas like drug discovery, medicine, and beyond. His leadership will be crucial in shaping the future of AI applications in biology and advancing biological research.
Bringing AI and Biology Together for Real-World Impact
Ziv joins us from Sanofi, where he served as VP, Head of R&D Data and Computational Sciences, leading teams in machine learning, computational biology, and data science to accelerate drug and vaccine discovery. He also holds the position of FORE Systems Professor at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), specializing in biological systems modeling and AI applications in genomics and systems biology.
GenBio AI Co-Founder and Chief Scientist Eric Xing said:
“Ziv is a highly accomplished colleague from CMU and his expertise in computational biology and AI is unparalleled. His leadership will be instrumental in shaping GenBio AI research and development directions. We are thrilled to have him on board as we push the frontiers of scientific discovery.”
GenBio AI Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer Ziv Bar-Joseph said:
“GenBio AI is building a world-class research environment to develop the first AI-driven Digital Organism (“AIDO”), and I’m excited to be part of the team advancing AI-driven biology. GenBio AI’s vision is unique in its ambition to create such an innovative model, and I look forward to leading the team in pushing the boundaries of discovery.”
A New Era in AI and Biology
At GenBio AI, our mission is to create integrated multiscale foundation models that reflect the complexity and interconnectedness of biological systems. These models aim to drive progress in areas such as drug discovery, disease modeling, and precision medicine, helping us gain new insights into biology at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organism levels.
Ziv will lead a team of research scientists in Paris, focused on developing AI applications for biological discovery. His work will help ensure that our models not only generate accurate biological predictions but also translate into meaningful applications in biotechnology and medicine.
Building the Future of AI and Biology
GenBio AI is committed to transforming biological research through the use of advanced AI. With operations in Palo Alto, Abu Dhabi, and Paris, we are building a platform designed to model complex biological systems. Our integrated models will enable us to better understand the underlying biology of living cells, tissues, and organs, with applications ranging from basic research to translational medicine and drug discovery.
We are excited to have Ziv on board as we continue to build the future of AI-driven biology. His leadership will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve our mission to push the boundaries of discovery and improve human life.
Looking Ahead
As we expand our research, partnerships, and applications, we remain committed to developing AI-driven solutions that have a meaningful impact on medicine, biotechnology, and human health. We welcome Ziv Bar-Joseph to the team and look forward to solving the challenges ahead.
